Cloves Fashion Tips - Just some tips to keep in mind when dressing..compliments Cloves "brands you know"

This final one for the night!!!

Show off the trimmest parts of your body by combining a tight fitting piece with a loose fitting one.

Any color worn head to toe in a clean, unbroken line will produce a dynamically slimming effect.

Don't worry if separates don't match exactly. Tonal variations are a creative alternative.

Taller bodies can take larger prints and more contrast.

The darker a print's background, the slimmer the look.

Blouses: a collared shirt always gives a torso a few good inches and frames the face handsomely.

A slim v-neck makes the neck appear longer and is usually very flattering.

Boatnecks are great for minimizing waists and hips, while maximizing sexy shoulders.

If your legs are fuller inside, try a side slit. If your legs are fuller outside, a mid-front or back slit is a better choice.

There is never an excuse for panty lines! A thong is a girl's best friend - they even come with tummy control.

Bright colors bring attention to an area - make sure you wear them wisely and only on your most flattering body parts.

Stilettos are back and in spite of the discomfort at times - they make your legs look like a million dollars!

Cloves Fashion Tips - Men's Fashion

Now why should all the advice be for gals!!

Men's Fashion - 6 Important Men's Fashion Rules to Live By

Every man has asked themselves about matching their socks with their trousers and other assorted questions at some point in their lives. Here I have listed six important men's fashion rules to live by which should at least clear up some confusion about a few things.
1. Always match your belt with your shoes. This is a good rule to follow and it keeps things simple. It's best to stay with traditional colors such a black, dark brown or a rich tan. Other colors will be difficult to match, and generally speaking, should be avoided. If you wear sneakers every day that probably means you are wearing jeans in which case I suggest trying a belt made of fabric or something equally as casual, but please avoid dress belts with jeans and sneakers. If you wear suspenders, I am compelled to ask you why, but I digress. Just don't wear a belt and suspenders together, it's one or the other.
2. Matching Ties and Shirts. For while the solid-colored shirt with a tie of the same (or slightly-off) color was seen everywhere. This is now a somewhat dated look. Try mixing things up a little and experiment with colors. Ties are great way to express yourself, but keeping it tasteful is your best bet. You can't go wrong with diagonal stripes, modern polka-dots, plaids and subtle patterns. Just make sure your tie compliments your shirt, suit, sweater or what ever you will be wearing it with. Novelty ties are best avoided since the novelty is short lived.
Note: Ties should be tied in whatever style most strikes your fancy. You should know that there are many different ways to knot your tie, and different knots say different things. I prefer the Windsor or the four-in-hand, but I do suggest that you explore a little just for kicks. As for clip on ties--just say no.
3. Pleats vs. Flat-Front. Why so many men have avoided flat-front trousers has always been a mystery to me. Flat-front trousers look better than pleated pants, at least most of the time. Plus pleats make you look less slim. I have heard guys wear pleats because it’s more comfortable or because flat-fronts are more for athletic bodies. Truth is most men can wear a flat-front trouser. If you want more room then buy them a little big and have them brought in at the waist. This can be done at the store where you buy your clothes or by an independent tailor. And lastly, flat-font trousers are much more fashionable. How do you feel about pants with pleats?
4. Socks. The more official rule on socks is that they should match the color of your pants, though preferably not the exact same shade unless, of course, you are wearing black in which case it's okay. However, I personally like to wear socks with patterns, such as stripes in various colors. But I do try to match my socks with my pants and shoes. To quote Glenn O'Brien from GQ magazine, ". . .you will ultimately realize that beyond the valley of rules rises the mountain of aesthetics, the peak of which (if there is one) is always shrouded in beautiful clouds of various hues, many of them resembling certain of my more unusually hued socks."
Note: Although it should be obvious, white socks should be reserved for the gym.
5. Watches are the single most important accessory a man can own. I really suggest investing in one good watch that suits your lifestyle and taste. However, if you are someone who likes to own more than one watch, wear the appropriate timepiece for your outfit: black band with black shoes and belt; brown band with brown shoes and belt; and silver band for either.
6. Eyeglasses are one of the few ways you can really express yourself. I have worn glasses for many years and I love having a few pair in different styles. They don't have to just serve a function, but can enhance your overall look. Do your best to find a pair of glasses that not only compliments the shape of your face, but also expresses your personality. Ask people who wear glasses for a place where you can get good advice about what shape and style looks best for your face shape and features.

Cloves Fashion Tips - hiding tummy bulge

This is what I need right now

There is nothing more annoying than trying on a million different clothes only to realize that the problem is not the clothes, but your bulging tummy. It can be hard to find things that hide your tummy but at the same time looks good too, so here are your top 10 ways to hiding a tummy bulge.

#1. A Banded Top
Banded tops are shirts that have a band at the hemline which is great for covering a tummy bulge.

#2. Wrap Dresses and Shirts
Wrap dresses and wrap shirts are excellent for hiding your tummy pouch. Choose them in colorful patterned styles since the eye will be drawn away from the problem area.

#3. Shapewear
Shapewear is another great way to help hide your trouble spots, although they can be a little uncomfortable to wear at times. Stick to shapewear only when needed though!

#4. Get the Right Fit
Stick to your size and your body structure. Wearing something too small and too tight will only accentuate the problem and wearing something that is too large for you will only make it obvious that you’re trying to hide something. Instead, stick to a happy medium: your true size!

#6. Wear a Fitted Jacket
Don’t cover up in a big jacket…it will only make you look bigger! Instead, try a fitted jacket that enhances your silhouette and nips at the waist.

#7. Empire Waist Tops
Empire waist tops are great for hiding a tummy bulge since it nips right under the bust and hangs straight down all the way, hiding that unwanted roll of fat that you hate so much.

#8. Avoid Pants With Waist Detail
Put away your pants/jeans that have a lot of waist detail such as lots of pockets, bows, belts, etc, since this will only bring attention to the tummy area. Instead, stick to really plain and simple flat front pants with little or no detail at the waist.

#9. Select the Right Fabrics
Tight, stretchy fabrics will only accentuate your tummy. Instead, opt for more free-flowing fabrics such as cotton which will not cling to your body.

#10. Never Tuck Your Shirt In
I’m not sure if anyone still tucks their shirt in, but if you do – please stop now! Tucking your shirt in is a major no-no, especially if you’ve got something to hide! Let the shirt flow over the pants, which will elongate your torso and hide your tummy. If your shirt is too long (too big), then it’s just not a good fit for you!

Hell's Kitchen will Come dine with me

Hey hey last night my mom and I were looking for something to watch when we came across "Hell's Kitchen". If you are not aware of Hell's Kitchen (with Chef Ramsey here is a lil wiki description:

Hell's Kitchen is an American reality-television cooking competition (based on a series of the same name, broadcast in the UK) broadcast on FOX. It is hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The program debuted on May 30, 2005, and has run every year since on an annual and semi-annual basis. The seventh season of Hell's Kitchen ran Tuesdays nights from June 1, 2010 to August 10, 2010 at 8pm ET/7pm CT on FOX. The eighth season of Hell's Kitchen premiered on September 22, 2010.[1]

Hell's Kitchen is the 2nd highest-rated competitive reality show in the United States, behind Survivor.[citation needed] It has surpassed The Apprentice (hosted by Donald Trump) in its number of non-celebrity contestant seasons and has not attempted to bolster ratings with major format changes. Also, every season of Hell's Kitchen has been shown consecutively on a yearly (or twice yearly) basis since 2005 (as of 2010, seven seasons have aired). Based on Nielsen ratings, each season has seen enough viewer loyalty to have Fox renew the show's contract for another season. On August 6, 2009, Hell's Kitchen was renewed for an eighth season.[2]

If this doesnt help you out here is a clip:

Then right after they had shown a show called "Come Dine with Me"
Here is the wiki description

Come Dine With Me is a Channel 4 television programme shown in the United Kingdom, first broadcast in January 2005. The show has either four or five amateur chefs competing against each other hosting a dinner party for the other contestants. Each competitor then rates the host's performance with the winner winning a £1,000 cash prize. An element of comedy is added to the show through comedian Dave Lamb, who provides a dry and "bitingly sarcastic" narration.[1]

And because I couldnt find a preview I will give you an entire episode!!!!

Tell me that wasnt cool!!!When I own my own home or even apartment I am hoping to invite people to my house for dinner parties.I most likely will keep you posted ;)

Cloves Fashion Tips - Buying a handbag

Buying A Handbag?
Here's What to Look For

What should you look for when buying a handbag?

While many fashionistas would say that the designer label is the most important consideration, you and I are smarter than that. Yes, some designers do have cool, functional handbags, but there's a lot more at stake here than the name on the outside. After all, you "wear" your handbag every day, so like everyday shoes, it makes sense to invest wisely.

If you don't have a lot of time to think about this accessory every day--and most women don't--then your best bet is to opt for basic styles in neutral colors. In fact, if you build your wardrobe around three or four primary colors, then you'll need fewer handbags to see you through. You can then spend a lot of money on quality pieces that will last you for many years.

Here are some guidelines to get the most for your money:

1. While matching handbag to shoe color is no longer a "do-or-die" rule, they should be in the same family of colors (rust handbag, brown shoes, or gray handbag, black shoes, for example) and the handbag should harmonize with the colors of your outfit.

2. The personality of the handbag should be compatible with the mood of your clothes-sporty with sporty, business with business, romantic with romantic, etc.

3. Leather is the best choice for year-round use. Warm weather alternatives include a neutral-colored canvas or straw bag, both of which work well with a variety of shoe colors.

4. Make sure the bag you're considering will hold all of your normal contents. If in doubt, empty the purse you're carrying into the bag you're considering to check its capacity before you buy.

Whatever you do, DO consider your lifestyle when investing in a handbag. There's nothing worse than buying something on impulse and then having it sit in your closet for years to come. Take care of your investment with regular care, and replace zippers and snaps as needed. Your local shoe repair shop should be able to help you with this.

So what's the bottom line?

THINK before investing in a new bag, particularly if it's a designer handbag. It's the only way to justify the expense.

Cloves Fashion Tips- Summer 2010 Look

Even though summer is done it doesnt hurt to try this look.

Summer 2010 fashion trends: the laid-back surfer look

The laid-back surfer look is in this summer! Look like you have let your cares dance away in this season’s trend of bright accessories, faded denim and loose blouses. This look spans from bright colored shades, bracelets and sandals to light wash denim miniskirts. For an extra flair, top of your breezy look with a straw fedora. You can even add some of this summer’s hottest colors to your nails! Try adding some turquoise, fuchsia or jade nail polish.

One of the easiest ensembles to wear when pulling off this trend is a fun, summer printed dress. Tie-dye is back; look especially fashionable in the fresh new look of this season’s monochromatic tie-dye. Get yourself a tie-dye maxi dress in ocean blue, grapefruit pink or sea foam green.
Pair this trend with some tousled waves and a belt cinching in your waist to keep your silhouette dainty and feminine. You will be looking super chic, and ready to hit the streets in this comfy, carefree style.

Cloves Fashion Tips - Style Shoes!!

STAPLE STYLES SHOES A WOMEN SHOULD HAVE

No matter how many shoes you have sitting in your closet, be it 20 or 200, there are some staple styles that should be part of your wardrobe this year. But remember to match them to your body shape and ensure you are actually wearing the right size shoes.

The Black Pump – The "Little Black Dress" of Shoes

* Not much needs to be said about this classic pair of go-anywhere shoes, as versatile as the little black dress. Choose a style which makes you feel glamorous rather than conservative. Whether they be patent courts, sling bags or peep-toes, keep the heels fairly high to provide a feminine "leggy" feel.

The Neutral or Metallic Shoe

* For the times when black is boring or too somber, a neutral shade or metallic gold or silver is versatile enough to lift any outfit. In fact, metallic-colored shoes tend to elongate the foot, more so than classic black. Metallics look great against the canvas of a little black dress and this season's Goddess gowns.

The Semi-Casual Flat

* Be they colorful, or simply black. "A pair of stylish flats is an essential element of any woman’s wardrobe for the times when common sense must prevail". Low heeled enough to be practical, yet smart enough to pass muster in the office or less casual social occasion.

The Sexy High Heels

* Every women should have a pair of slutty, sexy shoes for the times they really want to create that “look-at-me” effect , or to really dress-up a mini dress or classic shift.

The Casual Ballet Flat

* Whether it be for the beach, walking the dog or just messing around, the casual flat is a practical necessity to be kind to your feet. Easy and comfortable; if you don’t have many pairs, then go for a metallic, black or neutral color, which will match pretty much anything.

* If the rounded toe of a ballet flat does nothing for you (especially if you are short) then opt for a more pointed toe to lengthen the leg, but avoid the elongated, outdated “winkle pickers” of previous years.

Wedge-Heels or Platforms

* One fashion indulgence for this season has to be some chunky, wedge heels or platform shoes. A perfect accompaniment to flowing maxi-dresses and micro minis, the heaviness of the shoe balances out a baby doll, smock or long flowing skirt. Wedges and platforms are a necessity if you are petite, as they make you look taller and give you some bulk.

Cloves Fashion Tip- Corporate Interview

It has been a while and I have been collecting the Cloves Fashion tips for a while so these next few posts will be tips that I have been receiving!!!

What To Wear To A Corporate Interview

Even though the age of the power suit may have died along with the shoulder pad, looking professional is key to landing your dream gig. We know a slew of people are looking for jobs right now, and interviewing is stressful enough without worrying about what to wear. Even though dressing for corporate environments might not be the most sartorially exciting, there are plenty of ways to let your chic shine through. When shopping, keep in mind that fit is key; If you can't walk in your shoes, or your blazer is too large, your discomfort will show. Corporate desk job not your thing? We've still got you covered.

1. Wear a suit—You should have a few great suits in your closet, period. Look for slim pencil style skirts with a high waist that you can accentuate with a unique belt. If you choose pants, look for a more tailored, slim fit leg for a modern silhouette.

2. Simple shirts—Stick to basic colors like french blue, white, and slate gray. Keep things smooth and covered up with an ingenious invention- dress shirt unitards with attached thongs that keeps everything properly tucked.

3. Invest in the best— Since your clothes will be basic, use a quality bag and pair of shoes to show off your superior sense of fashion. Investing in more expensive pieces will keep you looking classic and not like you rolled out of a mall.

4. Shoe rules— Avoid open-toed shoes and make sure your heels are covered. We recommend a classic pump with at least a 3-inch heel in a round or almond shape. Pointy-toes, begone!

5. Button up— Jackets should have one or two buttons. Any more, and you'll start to look fuddy-duddy. Extra tip: If you're going for a slim pantsuit, balance out the fit with a shirt that's buttoned all the way to the collar for a subtle but trendy detail.

6. Play with your accessories—Distracting accessories like chandelier earrings or statement rings will have your interviewer paying attention to everything but what you're saying. Choose a simple but interesting cuff, watch, stud earrings, a simple necklace, or a patent belt.

Dont Let Me Get Me PLEASE!!!

I came across a phrase in my sister's blog today and It explains exactly how i felt today and feel almost every other day!!

I wanted to be normal,
I wanted to be loved,
I wanted what I saw in movies
And read in novels.
The sad thing is
That was not the reality.

I know normal is what we are living in but sometimes when you watch movies like Mama Mia and Sisterhood of Traveling Pants and all them other movies. I just sometimes wish i was living that life and leave this one alone.

Today I put on some lipstick and eyeshadow and kept my hair down and I felt that I looked good! Then when I went to the parking lot that my mom has a reserved spot, one of the attendants asked why I have on the lipstick (he couldnt see my eyes because I had on shades). I told him because I like to put it on. He then started saying that it is covering up my natural beauty and all that stuff. But after giving him some half baked answer I noticed the real reason was because I wanted to be someone else. Since you cant see your face through your own eyes (without the use of a mirror) I would imagine I look a different way and carry on the personality of that other person. It is easier pretending to be someone else than trying to figure out who you are.

Gosh I got issues :( But My low self esteem makes me not wanna be myself.
This song explains alot

The world's most generic news report - Charlie Brooker's Newswipe

Only after seeing this Parody I noticed how true it is!!! And then it brings to mind Antoine

OXXO

Mayeshah!!!

I am a slacker!!

I have been going through Solitary Panda's blog entries and one of them is How to Be a Slacker. But while reading all of these there may be one or two of them that I dont necessarily do! But then When I read the last last one I noticed that shoot I was born a slacker!!! hahaha lol

So here is her rules!!
1. More porn. Duh. I love porn. AND I’m a feminist! A sex-positive feminist who thinks more porn will do a body good. As opposed to milk. Although that could be hot. Ever seen a live cam girl pour milk all over her body? I have. For free. Suckas! (Note: Sucking is hot too. For free.)
2. Take a walk. Although this might seem like the complete opposite, most BORING thing ever as compared to porn, it actually works. It helps clear the mind, letting you refuel for more creative genius to rape your ego flow into your life in the form of: A-ha! (And not the 80s one-hit-wonder) I love this SO much that I’m going to take a 280km (that’s about 173 miles for you dumb Americans. It’s OK, I had to look it up too. Touché.) walk on the tropical island which inspired “The Beach” just to overdo myself and become an EPIC slacker.
3. Surf the internet. Surfing the internet (and NOT just porn sites because social media is now more popular than porn, thank you, but just as flagellating) is pretty much what I do all day. Is it unproductive? Maybe. But amidst this unproductivity is a sliver of information (through osmosis) that might be useful someday, stirring ideas and inspiration in a sort of brainstorming process.
4. Eat. Emotional eating is where it’s at. Just don’t get too fat. Especially if you want to look good naked. So you can fuck like a porn star. Wink.
5. Take yourself out. Dating yourself is the most awesome thing ever because it’s so liberating. Empowering. Do something fun to ease your mind off of stress. Try something new. Shake things up. Self-dates nurture your creativity.
6. Pull an all-nighter. Jack yourself up on caffeine and energy drinks and get ready to work on your last-minute project. The result of which could either be your most glorious work, if you’re into running on adrenaline and pulling an “A” out of your ass, OR a half-assed “E” for effort.
7. Sleep. I’ve covered eating, so now lets take a nap! Isn’t it funny how two most basic needs can go hand in hand with being a slacker? What does that say about society? Who always wants to do more, bigger, better, faster? Or religion? Who teaches us that things like gluttony and laziness are bad? Should I feel guilty for taking the time to rest my body? It’s a basic need for crying out loud! Thus concludes: religion is silly.
8. Daydream. Daydreaming is what you get in trouble for doing at school. But my mind always wanders off. Half the time I’m living life in my own little daydream. And you know what? I love it. I love being a space-cadette because I’m Interplanet Janet! Daydreaming is one of the keys to creativity. You can’t go wrong.
9. Meditate. I just came out of a four month Buddhist monastery program where we meditated every day for half an hour. It’s good shit. So good that I really miss it and need it back in my life. Meditation helps you calm, balance and face the day. I solve problems in my head, brainstorm, and think of old forgotten memories that surprise me all while meditating. If you’ve ever seen I Heart Huckabees and how random images fragment and defragment, it’s kind of like that.
10. Live on a tropical island. Every day is a vacation on a tropical island paradise! Things are slower-paced here and laziness is part of the culture. Soak in the sun and live, laugh, love.
